Forklift Driving – a new career

Are you interested in a career as a forklift operator or do you need to train your employees to operate forklifts safely? We are excited to offer a comprehensive forklift training course that covers all the essential information needed to operate forklifts safely in the workplace.

Vocational Training

Forklifts are a practical way to move and stack goods and materials in warehouses, construction sites, and other industrial settings. However, they also pose significant workplace safety risks that cannot be ignored. OSHA estimates that forklift-related workplace incidents account for approximately 85 deaths and 35,000 serious injuries per year. Basic training and compliance with industry safety standards are essential, but should also be viewed as a starting point for your workplace forklift program.

Our forklift training course covers all aspects of operating a forklift safely, including the equipment itself. A forklift is a small industrial vehicle with a power-operated, forked platform attached at the front. This platform can be raised and lowered and inserted under a load to lift or move it. They can be powered by electric motors or by internal-combustion engines running on petrol, diesel or LPG fuels. They’re either controlled by a licensed onboard operator or they’re pedestrian-operated forklifts (POFs) with no onboard operator.

Our training program covers the risks involved in using forklifts, including the risk of incidents and tipping over, especially when carrying loads that are uneven or when braking or accelerating down a slope. Forklifts are designed to be compact, easy to move and steer, but they can become unstable when carrying loads. A standard two-tonne forklift can weigh approximately five tonnes when fully loaded. With lower stability and greater manoeuvrability, forklifts are involved in many incidents, especially in uncontrolled traffic areas. Examples of risks when using forklifts are instability, speed and stopping distances, and soft tissue injuries such as sprains, strains, and other injuries to the neck, back, and arms that can lead to long-term health problems

Our training course also covers how to manage the risks associated with operating forklifts safely. It’s important to operate a forklift safely and create a safe work environment to minimize the risk of incidents. Simple measures that can make a big difference include observing speed limits and stop signs, wearing correctly fitted seat belts, slowing down, and sounding the horn at intersections. The risk of forklift-related injuries can also be reduced by making sure employees are well trained, machinery is well maintained, and a traffic management plan is in place see: https://www.mhlnews.com/forklift-safety/article

Attention all employers and employees who work with forklifts: Did you know that forklifts are the cause of approximately 85 workplace deaths and 35,000 serious injuries per year in the US alone? Our forklift training course is designed to teach you how to operate a forklift safely and create a safe work environment to minimize the risk of incidents. Our program covers all types of forklifts, including those powered by electric motors, internal-combustion engines running on petrol, diesel, or LPG fuels, and even pedestrian-operated forklifts (POFs) with no onboard operator.

Our course covers the basics of forklift operation, including how to inspect and operate the equipment, perform various maneuvers, recognize potential hazards, and prevent accidents. We also cover forklift safety protocols, such as observing speed limits and stop signs, wearing correctly fitted seat belts, and sounding the horn at intersections.
